AIChamp

Video-derived training data and evaluations for physical AI.

Overview

AIChamp develops training data and evaluations for physical AI. Its website describes converting egocentric video into structured episodes for vision-language-action and world models. The inputs can be customer footage or material sourced through collection partners. The advertised outputs include task segmentation, language descriptions, three-dimensional hand poses, contact events, object masks, and quality scorecards.

The company also describes evaluations based on simulated scene geometry and physics. These focus on spatial judgments such as fit, clearance, and orientation, together with analysis of whether a model's confidence matches its correctness. Its evaluation offering includes private held-out scenarios and reports intended to reveal distinct failure categories.

These are company descriptions of the service. Claims that a physics-derived answer is unambiguous should be understood within the assumptions of the scene and simulator; they do not establish that every physical deployment outcome is predictable.

Why the data format matters

Our assessment is that AIChamp addresses a specific gap between watching an activity and obtaining usable supervision for action. In an illustrative manipulation task, a video may show a person placing an object in a container. A learning system can benefit from knowing when contact begins, which object moves, and how the hand is positioned, rather than receiving only a clip-level caption.

Those additional labels also create more ways for errors to enter. Camera calibration, occlusion, and differences between human hands and a robot's gripper can affect how useful an episode is. Structured data should therefore be tested against the intended embodiment and task family.

Evaluating fit

A practical trial would inspect sample episodes, annotation confidence, and the quality checks applied to difficult frames. For evaluation work, request examples where the model fails and examine whether the explanation isolates perception, spatial reasoning, or uncertainty. Keep simulator performance and physical-task performance as separate measurements. The key purchasing question is whether the delivered representations improve a relevant training or evaluation workflow, not simply whether the source footage looks realistic.
